His career began in special education, driven by a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others. Drawn to Four Seasons company culture and its commitment to developing people, he began his career with Four Seasons Hotel Chicago following graduation. He excelled across all areas of hotel operations, rising to the role of Hotel Manager. His journey with the brand continued with leadership positions at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago (formerly a Four Seasons hotel), Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, and Four Seasons Resort Nevis. Throughout, Churchmack has trailblazed with his collaborative, forward-thinking leadership style, blending creative and strategic insight with a drive to continually reimagine the guest experience.

Churchmack now takes the helm at one of the world’s most celebrated and pioneering resorts. For more than 25 years, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan has revolutionised luxury hospitality with its seamless blend of heritage and innovation. Set amidst Ubud’s lush jungle and two UNESCO World Heritage-protected rivers, the John Heah-designed resort is an architectural marvel. A dramatic footbridge entrance and floating treetop lotus pond, high above the Ayung Valley, descends through verdant greenery and rice paddies to a serene riverside retreat of 42 private pool villas and 18 suites. Guests can immerse in Bali’s rich culture through elevated treetop and riverside dining, a riverside culinary school, private temple tours, river rafting, and visits to UNESCO-listed rice fields. The newly reimagined Sacred River Spa offers transformative wellness experiences inspired by ancient Balinese philosophy and rituals. Highlights include the otherworldly Sacred Nap, where guests are rocked to sleep in suspended hammocks within the rice fields by Resident Wellness Mentor Ibu Heny Ferawati, a former Buddhist nun.
