History:
- Built in 1982 on the site of a former colonial jail in the historic harbourside The Rocks precinct
- Overlooks Sydney Cove, where Captain Arthur Philip first landed in 1788 to establish the colony of New South Wales
- Originally opened as The Regent; managed by Four Seasons since 1992 and rebranded as Four Seasons Hotel Sydney in 2002
- Hotel has since undergone multiple refurbishments, including a AUD 65 million update in 1999, guest room refurbishment in 2009, lobby refurbishment in 2010, Signature Suites refurbishment in 2011, AUD 11 million project for new cocktail bar Grain in 2012, creation of new meeting spaces in 2013, in 2017 the lobby restaurant underwent a major renovation and opened Mode Kitchen & Bar; 2019 the hotel and meeting spaces received a multi-million dollar renovation
- The latest enhancements to the guest experience follow a multi-million dollar renovation of 517 rooms and suites in 2019. Décor is inspired by the soothing blues and crisp whites of the surrounding Harbour, and 60 percent of rooms enjoy views of the Bridge or Opera House - some both
