Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Chef Russell Rummer brings decades of culinary experience to the table at oceanfront Italian restaurant, Ferraro’s Restaurant and Bar at Four Seasons Resort Maui. Working hand-in-hand with the talented culinary team, Chef Rummer is responsible for overseeing the menu creation for the 2024 reimagination of the Resort’s iconic restaurant, featuring coastal Italian cuisine under the Maui stars.
Chef Rummer discovered his passion for cooking and Italian cuisine at a young age, and has since travelled to Naples, Italy, on three separate occasions solely to immerse himself in the country’s culinary traditions. Over the course of his career, he has worked in various kitchens around the US, most notably training under the culinary powerhouse of Chef Traci de Jardins and at San Francisco’s beloved James Beard Award-winning Italian restaurant Delfina, before venturing to Maui with his family in 2022, to embark on a new adventure with the acclaimed culinary team at Four Seasons Resort Maui.
At Ferraro’s Restaurant & Bar, Chef Rummer melds his Italian cooking background with the freshest local ingredients, emphasizing the island’s bounty of fresh seafood and produce to create a unique coastal Italian dining experience. In addition to the many seafood-forward dishes, guests of Ferraro’s can expect to find a wide variety of delicate handmade pastas, a selection of crudo, tableside caviar, and more, on the vibrant and tasty menu.
When Chef Rummer is not at Ferraro’s, he enjoys spending time at home cooking with his wife JJ and son Rocco. Most mornings, one can find him walking the picturesque shores of Wailea with his English mastiff, Norm.
