One of the things Director of Engineering Brady Knott likes most about his job is the variety. “Every day is different,” he says. “I don’t come in and do the same thing over and over. I like the surprises, too — to a certain extent.”
In his role, he oversees the operation and maintenance of Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis as well as the residences, ensuring buildings are safe, up-to-code and exceeding guest expectations. A Minnesota native, Brady is thrilled to welcome guests to Four Seasons and share the things he loves about his home state. “Our Hotel is so beautiful and the team is so genuinely nice. Our city has everything — arts, food, nightlife, and all four seasons. There’s something going on here.”
Brady entered the hospitality industry shortly after graduating from college in 2008. He started working in Corvette restoration, but when the market crashed, the job started slowing down and he was looking for a new opportunity. “My friend was working as a valet [at The Hotel Minneapolis], so I got a job there and worked my way up.”
Brady climbed the ranks from lead engineer to supervisor to assistant chief to director at properties owned by Pivot Hotels & Resorts and Davidson Hotels & Resorts before joining Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis. One of his top career accomplishments was overseeing a USD 25 million hotel renovation — with a very firm deadline. “We worked with ownership and the general contractor starting in 2018 to facilitate all of the project timelines while still having people in the hotel. We had to get it all finished in time for the 2019 Final Four.”
For Brady, there’s no better place to be than Minnesota. When he’s in the city, he loves digging into the legendary Silver Butter Knife Steak at Murray’s, or going boating on one of the area’s many lakes. But up north is his happy place. “I love fishing, four-wheeling and snowmobiling, just being in the woods with no cell service,” he says.
Brady lives in St. Michael, Minnesota, with his wife Vanessa, their son Henrick, daughter Margot, and German Shepherd Ida. In his off-hours, Brady enjoys working with his hands, whether it’s cooking, fixing things around the house or restoring vintage Corvettes from the 1950s and 60s.
