Originally from San José, Costa Rica, Andres brings more than two decades of hospitality leadership experience and a global perspective shaped by living in Chile, El Salvador, Greece, Macedonia, and the United States. While his journey has taken him around the world, Washington, DC has always been home. Having spent most of his life in the nation's capital, Andres is a passionate advocate for the city's dynamic dining culture.

Andres began his hospitality career in Washington, DC in 2001, building a strong foundation through a variety of operational and leadership roles with respected organizations including Grill Concepts Inc. and DoubleTree Hotels. His dedication to guest service, team development, and operational excellence propelled him into restaurant leadership, earning him his first General Manager position at Fiorella Trattoria.

Over the years, Andres has led some of the region's most celebrated hospitality concepts, serving as General Manager for Barcelona Wine Bar and Oyamel by José Andrés before becoming Managing Partner at Gypsy Kitchen. His experience spans chef-driven concepts and sophisticated hospitality environments, where he has developed a reputation for cultivating exceptional guest experiences and high-performing teams.

Most recently, Andres served as Regional Director of Operations for Palacios Murphy in Houston, Texas, where he supported the development and opening of new restaurant concepts across the state. Despite the excitement of launching new ventures, he and his family ultimately felt the pull of Washington, DC and were thrilled to return to the city they consider home.

Outside of work, Andres enjoys cycling and running, and can often be found exploring the city’s locally renowned culinary and beverage scene in search of its newest restaurants, innovative menus, and emerging talent. A self-proclaimed foodie, he is continuously inspired by the creativity and diversity that define DC's dining community.
