Kijana Klub – The Serengeti for Kids
Four Seasons hotels and resorts are renowned for remembering that even the smaller guests are important. As such, the Kijana Klub at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti is no ordinary kids club, with its team of energetic child-carers, Maasai warriors and wildlife experts on hand to educate younger guests about Africa and its abundance of wildlife.
The Kids for All Seasons program allows children to take full advantage of the Serengeti's natural environment, working closely with the Lodge’s Discovery Centre. Activities include a morning with a Maasai warrior where bush-skills and traditions are passed on, including how to start a fire, how to make a toothbrush from a tree, and discovering the medicinal properties of plants. And for the creatively inclined, lessons on the art of Maasai beading and African storytelling are offered.
With the guidance of on-site wildlife experts, teenage guests will have the opportunity to learn more about conservation and how to study animals through initiatives such as the Cheetah Watch Program. They will also use technology to contribute first-hand to these conservation projects, setting up their own remote camera traps around the Lodge to track wildlife.
The Kijana Klub also has a supervised arts and crafts space, an area for playing video games and watching movies, and a dining area - the perfect mix of education and fun, for memories that will last a lifetime.
