Langkawi’s Top 10 Experiences at Four Seasons
Ready, set, discover!
Four Seasons Resort Langkawi introduces its newly-minted Top 10 Series for the coming year. Get to know this vibrant destination with ten unmissable experiences, handpicked by the talented Adventure Team.
With its spectacular tropical setting and range of exciting adventures, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi is a world in itself. Immerse in the wonders of the natural world and explore a fascinating new culture, with trained experts on hand to make each experience hassle-free and thoroughly enjoyable. As Azfar Jaafar from the Adventure Team explains, “The secret to the fun is that we love all the activities, too!”
Make the most of your stay with these Top 10 activities inside the Resort:
1. Rock Climbing and Archery. A 12-metre (40-foot) natural limestone outcrop provides the perfect spot for rock-climbing and abseiling. Scramble up and down safely under the guidance of the Adventure Team – kids as young as five are welcome! Or head to the professional archery range, where you can learn the art of using a bow and arrow in a lush forest setting.
2. Geopark Discovery. Hop into a private boat and set off to explore mysterious mangrove jungles between land and sea. Meet the various inhabitants of Kilim Karst Geoforest Park – majestic eagles, mischievous monkeys and fish that “walk.” Upon your return to the Resort, visit the Geopark Discovery Centre to learn about Langkawi’s surreal rock formations and diverse habitats – rainforests, mangroves, sea stacks and saltwater lakes.
3. Rumah Ikan Fish House. At the far end of the Resort’s pristine beach, time stands still. Spend the afternoon with our Adventure Team at a traditional fish house, suspended above the Andaman Sea. Experience old-school methods of fishing, a fascinating process that involves a structure of wooden splints. Don’t forget to take a sunset selfie!
4. Tennis and Gym. Work up a healthy sweat at the on-site tennis court: sharpen your skills as you practice serving and volleying with an instructor, or simply enjoy a leisurely game. Fitness enthusiasts can also work out at the state-of-the-art gym, overlooking verdant landscaped gardens.
5. Elemental Balance at Geo Spa. Rebalance and renew at the Geo Spa, with treatments that draw on Ayurvedic philosophy as well as the ancient energies of the UNESCO Geopark. Identify personal imbalances and restore inner harmony with wellness experiences tailored to different elements – air, fire, earth and water.
6. Lesang Batu Cooking School. Put on your chef’s hat and learn the secrets of Malaysian cooking, a unique style that brings together tongue-tingling flavours from all over Malaysia, China and India. This friendly, interactive class is great for everyone – families, couples and solo guests.
7. Sunset at Rhu Bar. The most spectacular sunset on the island awaits you at Rhu Bar. Select your sundowner (we recommend sampling one of the house-infused gins), rest your toes in the sand and watch the sky come alive as the sun begins its farewell journey over the sea. The view changes every few minutes, offering an ever-changing treat for your eyes – and your camera!
8. Theme Night Dining. It’s time for a delicious new adventure every evening – from savouring fresh-caught lobster grilled to perfection on the beach, to toasting marshmallows around a private bonfire at your villa. Come festive season, and diners can choose from an additional line-up of exciting culinary experiences.
9. Daily Yoga. Yoga-lovers, welcome the day with an invigorating sequence of postures to awaken body, mind and senses. Beginners can start their yogic way of life with Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation), followed by synchronised breathwork – designed to help you develop awareness and listen to your body. Yoga sessions tailored to individual elemental energies are also available.
10. Jalan Jalan Nature Walk. Wander the sprawling Four Seasons grounds with an experienced naturalist, who helps you spot your fellow residents at the Resort: wide-eyed dusky leaf monkeys, iconic hornbills and shy monitor lizards. Even the foliage is exotic, from flamboyant flame trees to fragrant frangipanis.
