Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, Republic of Maldives

Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru is passionate about weaving its values of conservation, care and connection into visionary kids’ experiences that grow with each child.

Discover three pioneering programs that take a deep dive into Landaa’s perfectly pristine wilderness, including an island adventure for little explorers, a special mission for curious tweens, and Trainee Marine Biologist modules for environmentally-minded teens.

Passport to Adventure for Energetic Explorers Aged 4 to 8

A Kids' Club run program that introduces youngsters to the island’s extraordinary natural wonders through a series of exciting challenges, puzzles and activities.

The complimentary Passport to Adventure inspires a passion for discovery through up to eight daily activities in conjunction with a beautifully illustrated passport for kids to complete and keep. From Coral Reefscaping to Wishing Tree Walks, Dosha Discovery to Lizard Spotting, adventure challenges feature alongside activities such as mocktail making, snorkelling, kayaking and scavenger hunts. The program also incorporates the Resort's environmental initiatives; children can transplant their own coral reef and feed the baby clownfish in the Fish Lab.

Completion of each page in the passport earns children a stamp; seven or more stamps can be redeemed for a toy; all 14 stamps result in an ice-cream sundae at Blu Beach Club.

Mission: Landaa for Intrepid Investigators Aged 9 to 12

While still very much a kids’ program, Mission: Landaa is more of a statement of independence for the increasingly more confident tweens market.

The complimentary Mission: Landaa encourages curious tweens to venture out into the wider Resort by themselves and immerse in the island’s wonders and workings. From interviewing their favourite member of staff to monitoring patients in the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, tweens are encouraged to be independent, inquisitive and responsible via activities that extend beyond the usual Kids’ Club experience.

Armed with a carry-case style booklet, each Mission – should they choose to accept it – challenges everything from creativity and accuracy to investigative skills, report-taking, and even bed-making and origami. There’s also the chance to create a photomontage or video to be uploaded onto the Resort’s Facebook page. Completion of 14 different Mission levels earns a cool mystery prize.

Trainee Marine Biologist Modules for Budding Conservationists Aged 13 to 18

A serious foundation for scientifically minded teens, those considering a career in marine biology, or anyone with a genuine desire to deeply engage with the natural world.

A paid experience, Landaa's Trainee Marine Biologist modules take conservation seriously.  The series of six one-to-one one-day modules – Coral Biologist, Dolphin Biologist, Turtle Biologist, Aquarist, Plankton Biologist, and Manta Biologist – combine practical activities with comprehensive take-home texts prepared exclusively for each course.

During each standalone module, trainees work alongside the Resort’s marine biologists, on-site veterinarian and experts from The Manta Trust, gaining unique insights into pioneering conservation projects. From using artificial intelligence to monitor coral reef restoration to cultivating artemia and rotifers in the Fish Lab, each module offers a deep dive into life as a marine biologist and serves as a great foundation for anyone with a passion for environmental action.
