Ty Bar to Debut LOUIS XIII de Rémy Martin Anniversary Edition: Black Pearl
Since 1874, LOUIS XIII has reigned as the King of Cognacs, forging a legacy of craftsmanship, passion and excellence. In honour of the 140th anniversary in 2014, the House of Rémy Martin unveiled a limited edition series of 775 decanters from the family’s private reserve at the Domaine de Merpins. This limited LOUIS XIII Black Pearl Anniversary Edition will be served at Ty Bar inside Four Seasons Hotel New York.
This rare cognac is showcased in the coveted Black Pearl decanter handmade by the crystal masters Baccarat, and delicately treated with layers of titanium, carbon and gold with contrasts of light and dark dancing across its surface. The bottle shape references the original metal flask that inspired Paul-Émile Rémy Martin when he created LOUIS XIII more than 140 years ago. With an original suggested retail price of USD 16,000 (excluding tax), the LOUIS XIII Black Pearl was handcrafted more than a century ago and aged using oak from France’s Limousin region. The Anniversary Edition is only the third of its kind to be released in the past 100 years.
