Nothing understands "go big or go home" better than a tiger – a symbol of courage and adventure in the animal kingdom. It is, perhaps, no surprise that 2022 is the Year of the Tiger – dedicated to that is much-needed spirit after two arduous years. “Our team translates its fiery passion into the resort experiences,” shares Anthony Gill, General Manager Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Tented Camp Golden Triangle, while Sean Mosher, General Manager Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui adds, “We look forward to a year of celebrating continued resilience and providing opportunities for uninhibited adventure.”

Grace

Inspired by the mood of the season, Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui bring together the attributes of the spirit animal through dining and relaxation experiences. The elegant afternoon tea at resorts features ingredients and flavours that are synonymous with the Lunar New Year. Expect a menu of delicacies by Pastry Chef Fabien Casalino including steamed egg custard, deep fried spring rolls wrapped around duck and shitake, homemade prawn dumplings and more – served on a beautiful driftwood display at Pla Pla, overlooking the Gulf of Thailand.

From 50 shades of blue to endless green, the afternoon tea at North by Four Seasons in Chiang Mai by Executive Pastry Chef Yanisa Wiangnon is a bold mix of flavours and textures – from roasted red pork puffs to pineapple tarts and chestnut cherry cakes. “Pastry making is a graceful art that requires perseverance, passion and focus - call it the fire within or the spirit of the tiger,” smiles Yanisa.

Camp Chef Supa Thipparat presents a themed afternoon tea set highlighted by BBQ shredded pork with pickle cucumber in a bun, shrimp dumplings and more – served outdoors in the bamboo jungle in the Golden Triangle.

Poise

Reflecting on the clarity of the spirit animal, the award-winning spas in Chiang Mai and Koh Samui have curated wellbeing experiences that allow guests to find their poise and balance in a sanctuary of healing. Guests can soak in the tranquility of the island life at The Secret Garden Spa where a two-hour pampering unfolds with 90 minutes of a massage of choice, followed by 30 minutes of facial with Jade Gua Sha.

Making a meaningful connection with nature, the "abundance journey" at Wara Cheewa Spa in Chiang Mai includes a jasmine rice body scrub, followed by a warm herbal oil massage and a facial to complete the two-hour pampering.

“Tigers are well-known for their single-minded focus. At our spas, we translate this into mindfulness, through relaxing experiences,” shares Kotchaphan Mekloy, Spa Manager at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, commenting on the off-the-menu therapies lined up for Lunar New Year.

Fiery Passion

Among all the traits that the spirit animal of 2022 is known for, a fiery passion blazes through – much like the customised menus created by the chefs at both resorts. For Liam Nealon, Executive Chef of Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, the contemporary family-style set menu at North by Four Seasons is a true reflection of the season. “I am not one to hold back,” he smiles sharing the details of the menu that includes iced seafood platter, Canadian lobsters, BBQ duck, crispy pork belly, work fried beef and other specialties that are sure to make the celebration one for the memory.

Choose to stay in the two-four bedroom Private Retreats at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui and revel in the luxury of a personal chef with curated dining on the deck of the residence. “Come Dine With Me is a personal invitation from our team of chefs – whether it is for a family or just two, we will make it an occasion to never forget,” smiles Alessandro Baccarelli, Resort Manager at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui.
