In celebration of Global Wellness Day on June 9, 2018, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo will introduce special holistic wellness experiences that encompass caring for the planet, others, and one’s own well-being. As the crown jewel of the 1,400-acre (570 hectare) Peninsula Papagayo on the north Pacific coast of Costa Rica, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica emerged from a USD 35 million resort-wide renovation in December 2017 and is a natural wellness hideaway tucked between two white sand beaches and the peninsula’s lush tropical flora.

“We are excited for our guests to enjoy the three-day wellness program and special offerings that we have put together to celebrate Global Wellness Day,” says Director of Spa Viviana Quesada. “Taking good care of the planet, our community and ourselves informs everything we do and we are looking forward to connecting in meaningful ways with our guests during this special wellness day.”

The Resort’s Global Wellness Day activities will include a three-day holistic wellness program and a new Lucky Rope Project rooted in philanthropy as follows:

Three-Day Holistic Wellness Program – From June 7 to 9, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica will offer a complimentary wellness program that celebrates Global Wellness Day with events and activities for guests and employees. The three-day line-up will include walking meditation with bird watching; AntiGravity yoga; nature walks within the 1,400-acre (570 hectare) Peninsula Papagayo; ocean fitness activities with water bikes, paddle boards and canoes; beach cleaning and tree planting; and much more. As part of this holistic wellness program, all fitness classes the mornings of June 7-9 will be complimentary and aim to inspire and motivate guests in a journey toward lifelong wellness. Led by Executive Chef Nicolas Schneller, the Resort’s culinary team will offer healthy specialty items at all three resort pools as well as at its signature dining venues of Bahia, Pesce and Añejo. Specialty menu items will include hummus with crudités; ice tea infused with hibiscus; health-centric cocktails made with fresh pineapple cucumber, celery and kale; and smoothies that combine spinach, mango, yogurt and ginger.

Lucky Rope Project On Global Wellness Day, the Resort will launch a new philanthropic initiative for the local community called the Lucky Rope Project. An original shaman hand-knotted bracelet crafted by local healer Nao Ceci, this exclusive Lucky Rope Project bracelet will be available for purchase at the spa while all proceeds will go to Creciendo Juntos, which is the Resort’s local children’s charity partner. The proceeds will specifically be used for a new yoga and wellness program led by the Resort’s passionate team of wellness practitioners including Costa Rican yogi Beto Peña. As part of this philanthropy project, guests will also have the opportunity to sponsor a yoga session where they can practice yoga and share a healthy snack with the smiling children from Creciendo Juntos. The Lucky Rope Project Bracelet Price: USD 35. Sponsor a Yoga Session Price: USD 500.
