Italian-style Sunday Brunch at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze

A memorable food experience created by Michelin starred Chef Vito Mollica re-starting on October 7

October 1, 2018,
Florence, Italy

Summer has come to an end, and Il Palagio Restaurant is soon re-opening its doors – and its kitchen - to locals, visitors and Hotel guests with its popular Sunday Brunch. From Sunday, October 7, 2018, the Michelin-starred restaurant Il Palagio will offer every Sunday its 170-item brunch, where Executive Chef Vito Mollica and his team invite guests to their open kitchen to taste traditional Italian dishes served buffet-style and interact with the chefs.

Featuring handpicked local ingredients, classic brunch favourites, authentic Florentine cuisine, a gourmet selection of cold cuts, cheeses, salads, fish and roasted meats, the Sunday Brunch offers a full immersion into Italy’s rich soil and best products.

This new season will offer a new children’s play area with babysitter service, in collaboration with the Educational Farm Tellus, specialising in wine-making since 1979, and now focusing on educational projects to make kids love and respect animals and nature. Children will be able to learn all the secrets of an Italian farm with sensory workshops and different games offered every Sunday.

The Sunday Brunch will continue to highlight a new partner every Sunday such as a guest chef, local suppliers, and many more, who will showcase their dishes, products and savoir-faire, as well as a guest Champagne house chosen for its excellence and a liquor brand that will offer an Italian aperitivo to guests.

On Sunday, October 7, Vito Mollica will be joined by Il Pirata del Polpo di Piombino, a local fisherman specialising in many different preparations, all with octopuses coming from the Mediterranean Sea in the South of Tuscany.

About Il Palagio

Il Palagio is a Michelin-starred Italian restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze, a favourite among local restaurants for its traditional regional fare with a modern twist. Executive Chef Vito Mollica and his team have earned international acclaim for thoughtful preparation of the freshest local ingredients, in dishes such as the signature cavatelli pasta cacio e pepe with red prawns and marinated baby squids. Chef Vito and his brigade use the most exceptional local offerings, food that’s meant to be savoured with the Hotel’s equally outstanding wine list – about 1,000 exquisite wines, including 50 served by the glass. Il Palagio is located on the ground floor of the Palazzo Della Gherardesca. Once the Palazzo’s stable block, the room retains its original antique vaulted ceiling and numerous columns, creating an impressive dining area accented with colours of pale silver and jade. Large French doors open along two walls onto the western side of the garden where a terrace offers the option of al fresco dining.
