Les Grandes Tables du Monde welcomed its first Chinese restaurant, Lung King Heen at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, into its 2020 listing of 188 restaurants that includes 13 new venues, 12 of which are outside of France. Les Grandes Tables du Monde represents and promotes the world’s best restaurants with one of the largest communities of Michelin-starred restaurants in the world. Currently with 188 members in 25 countries and 392 Michelin stars – 60 percent of which are abroad, nearly one out of two two- and three-star restaurants would be a member of the association.

Helmed by executive Chinese Chef Chan Yan Tak and restaurant manager Jacky Cheung, Lung King Heen is the world’s first Chinese restaurant globally to attain the coveted three Michelin star recognition in 2008, and has retained the accolade for 12 consecutive years.

Representing Chinese gastronomy in Hong Kong as part of Les Grandes Tables du Monde, Lung King Heen offers a remarkable epicurean experience for guests through refined Cantonese cuisine and hospitable service. While maintaining the excellent standards, Chef Tak has expanded his culinary vision in the past years, working with local organic farmers and sustainable meat producers to continue to push Chinese cooking into new frontiers. At the same time, the service team has continued to elevate the wine and spirits offering, exploring new regions and exclusive cuvees to offer guests unique pairing opportunities.

“It is my pleasure to be the first and only Chinese restaurant featured in the Les Grandes Tables du Monde guide. It is my aim to uphold the high standards that Les Grandes Tables du Monde represents, and to do my part in continuing the success of this esteemed fraternity of gastronomy,” says Chef Tak.

Alongside Lung King Heen, Les Grandes Tables du Monde also recognises French restaurant Caprice at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong for the second year. Led by Chef Guillaume Galliot, the three Michelin-starred restaurant showcases classic French savoir-faire, a renowned global wine collection and an artisanal French cheese cellar.
