Manuel Pires Reigns as Champion Again at Annual Cocktails for A Cause Fundraising Event at Four Seasons Hotel Macao

Manuel Pires, Chairman of the Executive Committee of TDM - Teledifusão de Macau, S.A., has once again conquered the Champion title at Cocktails for a Cause – the annual pre-run fundraising event at Four Seasons Hotel Macao under its Run of Hope charity run campaign, held on October 25, 2019. With more than 1,400 cocktails served to more than 500 guests who have attended the  event, Four Seasons, with the tremendous support from the nine mixologists, partners and sponsors, has accomplished its goal to raise MOP 200,000 from the fun-filled evening.

Pires was joined by eight local socialites as guest mixologists, including Mark Lockwood, Head of School of The International School of Macao; Joao Ma, Chief of the Macao Chamber of Commerce Youth Committee with partner Boa Zhou, Executive Director of Zonta Club Macao; Sophie Lei, General Convener of KW Charity Association; Charles Bell, General Manager of DFS with partner Rachel Xu, Sales Director of Moët Hennessy Diageo Macau; and Alyson Lundstrom, Founder and CEO of Blissful Carrot and Fabio da Silva, Operations Manager of Blissful Carrot. The nine mixologists divided up into six groups and have whipped up ten creative cocktails. Pires has raised more than MOP 61,000 individually with his cocktail named “70,” a refreshing cocktail with Chinese rice wine Moutai and chrysanthemum-infused vodka as base, complimented by fruity notes from passion fruit, lychee and citrus. The concoction is a tribute to the anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.

Run of Hope 2019 on November 10, 2019

Four Seasons Hotel Macao will host its annual charity event Run of Hope Macau for the eleventh consecutive year on November 10, 2019 in co-operation with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, and The International School, as well as TDM - Teledifusão de Macau, S. A., as the official media partner, and athleisure brand lululemon as the wellness partner. Interested participants can sign up online, and choose between a 5.6 km run or 3 km family leisure hike. All funds raised, including that from Cocktails for a Cause event, will be donated to Kiang Wu Hospital for cancer research initiatives and Evangelize China Fellowship Orphanage.

About Run of Hope Macau

Run of Hope Macau reflects an important community program for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The initiative was inspired by Terry Fox, a courageous young man who was diagnosed with bone cancer and ran across Canada in 1980 to raise funds for cancer research, with the aim to eradicate cancer one day.  His action has caught the attention of Isadore Sharp, Founder and Chairman of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Since then, Four Seasons properties across the globe host annual events in support of cancer research and care. The first Run of Hope Macau event officially took place in 2009 following the grand opening of Four Seasons Hotel Macao in 2008.
