Four Seasons Hotel Macao will host its annual charity event Run of Hope Macau for the eleventh consecutive year on November 10, 2019 in co-operation with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and The International School of Macao (TIS), with TDM – Teledifusão de Macau, S.A. as the official media partner and lululemon as the exclusive wellness partner. Earlier in the quarter, a Run of Hope poster design competition among TIS students was held as a kick start to this year’s activities under Run of Hope Macau, and in hopes to engage local youths in learning the importance of sharing and giving back to the community.

Inspiration for Local Youths

In support of Run of Hope, Four Seasons Hotel Macao and TIS joined forces to host a poster design competition for secondary students of TIS, as a creative way to encourage local youths to take part in initiatives that connect them to the local community. A total of 10 entries were received and two-rounds of design presentation and judging took place, before a group entry by three students, Owen Hung, Jack Wong and Luis Filipe Chipenda Martins, won the competition with their illustrative yet meaningful design. The trio showcased a graphic design that depicts the signature skyline of Macau at dawn with an orange hue, in symbolism of a city that is filled with warmth and compassion, and consistently supports philanthropic initiatives across the board. A production meeting was set up with the trio to adapt and finalise their design, which is now the event poster of Run of Hope Macau 2019.

First in Town lululemon Partnership

Popular atheleisure brand lululemon takes part in Run of Hope 2019 as the exclusive wellness partner, with a holistic initiative. The partnership marks the first of its kind for the brand with a local Hotel since opening its first store in Macau. From now until November 9, 2019 lululemon will provide all Run of Hope participants a complimentary “lululemon experience” session at its stores, as a warm-up for the charity run. The brand is also sponsoring a full-set sports gear from its new line, as lucky draw prize for the pre-run event Cocktails for a Cause, which takes place on October 25.

Cocktails for a Cause

A night that combines artistry and philanthropy, Cocktails for a Cause aims to raise funds in a fun and engaging fashion. On October 25, 2019 guests are welcome to enjoy creative cocktails at the Hotel’s pool deck, crafted by guest mixologists, who are some of Macau’s favourite personalities with a big heart, including Manuel Pires, Chairman of the Executive Committee of TDM - Teledifusão de Macau, S.A.; Mark Lockwood, Head of School of The International School of Macao; Joao Ma, Chief of the Macao Chamber of Commerce Youth Committee with partner Boa Zhou, Executive Director of Zonta Club Macao; Sophie Lei, General Convener of KW Charity Association; Charles Bell, General Manager of DFS with partner Rachel Xu, Sales Director of Moët Hennessy Diageo Macau, and Alyson Lundstrom, Founder and CEO of Blissful Carrot and Fabio da Silva, Operations Manager of Blissful Carrot. The nine guest mixologists will be engaged in a friendly competition with each other and the one with the highest fund raised by selling his cocktail will be the champion of the night. The funds will be donated to Kiang Wu Hospital and Evangelize China Fellowship Orphanage through Run of Hope. Tickets are MOP 100 each, which includes a lucky draw ticket.

About Run of Hope Macau

Run of Hope Macau reflects an important community program for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The initiative was inspired by Terry Fox, a courageous young man who was diagnosed with bone cancer and ran across Canada in 1980 to raise funds for cancer research, with the aim to eradicate cancer one day.  His action has caught the attention of Isadore Sharp, Founder and Chairman of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Since then, Four Seasons properties across the globe host annual events in support of cancer research and care. The first Run of Hope Macau event officially took place in 2009 following the grand opening of Four Seasons Hotel Macao in 2008.
