Megeve, France

From September 7 to 9, 2023, the iconic Megève golf course will host the second edition of Four Seasons Megève Collection Pro-Am, organised by event agency Swing. This historic golfing event will mark the centenary of the oldest mountain golf course in the world.

100 Years of History

In the 1920s, Baroness Noémie de Rothschild discovered the charming mountain village of Megève. She was enchanted by its gentle slopes, year-round sunshine and awe-inspiring views of Mont Blanc, and decided to acquire hundreds of acres of land on the slopes of Mont d’Arbois. To manage all sporting-related facilities, she commissioned François Parodi, who immediately began to design and build a nine-course golf course. In 1964, Baron Edmond de Rothschild, son of Noémie de Rothschild, commissioned professional golfer Sir Henry Cotton to redesign the layout and extend the course from 9 to 18 holes. The country’s first mountain golf course with a stylised natural landscape is as flawlessly manicured as a French garden, offering breath-taking views of Mont Joly and the Aravis range. The gently undulating Par 72 course allows players to enjoy a round or two while taking in splendid panoramic vistas.

A Successful First Edition

Last September, 17 teams of amateur and professional golfers competed in the first edition of Four Seasons Megève Collection Pro-Am. The first day was marked by a pleasant welcoming evening at Four Seasons Hotel Megève, where participants got to know each other over an excellent cocktail reception. Designed to delight with its high-level performance and delectable culinary offerings, the friendly tournament was an extremely successful and unique golfing event, with several top players attending, including professional golfers Christian Cévaër and Fabrice Tarnaud.

On the last evening, participants and their guests enjoyed a magnificent gala dinner with a glamorous prize-giving ceremony. “The generosity of our partners has largely contributed to the success of this first edition. Swing’s expertise in organising golfing events, combined with our hospitality and culinary know-how, won over the participants,” comments Stéphane Gras, Managing Director of Four Seasons Megève Collection.

A Promising Second Edition

From September 7 to 9, 2023, players will meet on the greens of the Mont d'Arbois Golf Course for the second edition of the Four Seasons Megève Collection Pro-Am organised by event agency Swing. The competition will start with a welcome cocktail before a shotgun start over two days, September 8 and 9. Throughout the course, participants will be able to take gourmet breaks before resuming their game. Lunch will be served on the sumptuous terrace of the Club du Mont d'Arbois, located at the foot of the golf course, offering breath-taking views of the surrounding mountains. Participants can momentarily unwind, relax and soothe muscles with restorative massages carried out by Four Seasons Hotel Megève therapists in a dedicated stand at the foot of the course - the perfect way to tee off again feeling totally relaxed and in top shape.

Former European Tour player Fabrice Tarnaud has once again been selected to be ambassador for the event, enthusiastically sharing his expertise and passion for golf during this much-awaited second edition. Professional golfers Raphaël Jacquelin (4 wins on the European Tour) and Jade Schaeffer (2 wins on the Ladies European Tour) will accompany participants along the course, making this a truly unique competition.

To wrap up the event in style, a 1920s themed gala evening will celebrate the centenary of the Mont d'Arbois golf course with several prestigious prizes.
