After a year full of success and awards, Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City celebrated the beginning of the holiday season. With such achievements as being at the top 10 of Condé Nast Traveler’s best hotels in Mexico, winning the Best Hotel Bar by Travel + Leisure magazine and entering the top 50 of the Best Bars in the World list with Fifty Mils, the traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony had to be as spectacular as all these milestones.

This time, Petra Němcová was the guest of honour and for the third edition of this event, the creator behind the wonderful Christmas tree was the luxury brand Moët & Chandon. The six metre (20 foot) high tree was a surprise among all the guests who had the chance to witness the lighting ceremony. The model and activist was the perfect person to lead the event and start this season full of festivity, because she has given great support to Mexico through the Happy Hearts Fund, an organisation she created in 2009 that has rebuilt schools in Jalisco, Guerrero, Veracruz, Tabasco and Estado de México.

A New Year Full of Unforgettable Experiences

The Christmas tree lighting ceremony is just the beginning of the many surprises Four Seasons Hotel guests and clients can expect. The Hotel has planned many special activities to enjoy the holiday season, such as a brunch with Santa Claus, a Christmas dinner and three ways to celebrate the New Year.

The Christmas Eve dinner will have the traditional touch of Nayarit’s cuisine at Zanaya Restaurant, with dishes created by Chef Tonatiuh Cuevas – awarded the best chef of Four Seasons Americas – and Chef Beatrice Sulmont. The menu includes delicacies such as biscay cod pastries, romeritos with seafood tortas and three moles, vegetables à la Zaranda salad, duck magret confit and a buffet of desserts.

To say goodbye to 2018, a five course menu has been prepared at Zanaya Restaurant with delicacies such as shrimps with Dutch sauce, asparagus with tomato butter, lentils cream soup, rossini steak and, to finish with a great finale, sweet rice cream.

Meanwhile, the guests at the Gran Salón will enjoy the night of December 31, 2018 with decoration inspired by The Great Gatsby and a five course menu with dishes such as pickled beet, Huachinango in black aguachile and truffle, lemongrass cream, low temperature cod, ending the dinner with a delicious dessert, a champagne and gold mousse sphere.

For those who want to begin 2019 with style, they’ll be able to do it in one of the best 50 bars in the world, Fifty Mils, and enjoy Mexican cocktails that are taking the world by surprise during an unforgettable experience full of music and cocktails awarded by the most prestigious publications and competitions in the world.
