Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, the award-winning luxury lifestyle Hotel located in the heart of TriBeCa, is launching a new inspiring collaboration with New York City’s top chefs and restaurateurs from Danny Meyer’s Blue Smoke to Chef Stefano Secchi’s Michelin-starred Rezdôra.  Four Seasons Executive Chef Maria Tampakis selected New York’s most iconic chefs to team up with to bring the flavour of the city’s best dishes from the Restaurant-in-Room Chef Series, enhancing the in-room dining experience with a menu that will rotate every two months.

“We love New York’s food scene, the creativity our chefs bring to the City is electric,” says Thomas Carreras, General Manager. “Our new chef collaboration celebrates the spirit of the city by creating a platform for artisans to come together and play while offering our guests experiences that are authentically New York.”

Blue Smoke, from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, and Executive Chef Bret Lunsford kicking off the new Restaurant-in-Room Chef Series with a Southern-inspired menu for June and July 2022. Blue Smoke, a 20-year mainstay in the New York City barbecue community, is located in the heart of Battery Park City, just steps from Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown. Growing up on barbecue and Southern cooking, Executive Chef Bret Lunsford celebrates his passion for bringing people together through food. At Blue Smoke, Chef and team serve up barbecue from the pit, inclusive hospitality, and meals that are meant to be shared.

Four signature dishes will be presented:

  • Devilled Eggs: A tangy and satisfying Blue Smoke classic
  • Fried Chicken & Biscuits: Two pieces of Buttermilk Fried Chicken and a flaky Buttermilk Biscuit
  • Mac & Cheese: A creamy and decedent classic southern staple
  • Key Lime Pie: Light and refreshing, served with a generous dollop of fresh whipped cream

“As a luxury lifestyle icon in New York City, we are always dreaming up new experiences to help our guests discover our city. What better way to do this than through the eclectic food scene we all know and love,” says Tampakis. “Working side by side with such talented chefs is why I love what I do every day and I am happy to partner with them to bring the delicious culture of New York directly to our guests.”

Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown has four New York culinary stars lined up for 2022 with plans to continue the series throughout 2023.

The 2022-2023 Restaurant-in-Room Chef Series calendar features:

  • June–August 2022: Chef Bret Lunsford, Danny Meyer’s Blue Smoke
  • September–December 2022: Chef Leah Cohen, Pig and Khao
  • January-March 2023: Chef Anthony Ricco, Andrew Carmellini’s Leucca

Four Seasons New York Downtown embraces its surrounding community and will donate a portion of the proceeds from each dish on the special menu to the chef’s charity of choice. First up, Chef Bret chose Friends of Firefighters, an organization dedicated to supporting free mental health and wellness services for New York City’s firefighters since 2001.

"I’ve gotten to know Friends of Firefighters through local barbecue festivals. They were founded after 9/11 and have been supporting our community ever since. The mental health and wellness resources they provide to firefighters and their families is vital and I am proud to partner with them and grateful to Four Seasons for their contributions to such a worthy cause,” says Lunsford.
