On December 7, 2022, the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association hosted the Annual Stars of the Industry Gala to celebrate the hotel industry’s most important VIPs – the front line-level talent that makes the industry so unique. Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia received the Community Service Award, given to the hotel that has “an outstanding team of individuals who connect their property to the local community, takes care of the environment, and contributes their time serving the local community.”

“We are honoured to be the recipient of this coveted award,” says Ash Desai, Director of People and Culture at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia. “Throughout the year, our team is dedicated to fostering give back and community service opportunities for all employees. Our Community Service committee plans quarterly events and experiences that create meaningful connections between the Hotel and the local community and find ways of blending employees’ personal passions with volunteering. We are so proud to receive this recognition.”

Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia provides each employee with four hours of paid volunteer time annually, and whether it’s spending time at the Ronald McDonald house, fundraising for a local cause such as the annual CHOP Parkway Run + Walk, or spending their Saturday mornings at the Peace Park for clean-up efforts, as the team represents active members of the Philadelphia community.

Another way Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia supports the local community is by providing opportunities for local students and aspiring artists. Beginning in 2021, Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia and JG SkyHigh, with their partner BELLOSOUND, partnered with the School District of Philadelphia to construct a student mentorship program that provides music industry exposure to students. MIC’d Up (Music Industry Classrooms) is a program benefiting aspiring musicians through providing a platform for young artists to publicly perform. JG SkyHigh launched the program, which features musicians from the MIC’d Up program on Monday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

“It’s essential for any aspiring creative to have mentors. We rely on making connections with like-minded musicians, as well as the audience, in order to develop our craft,” says Daniel Buckman, Founder and CEO of BELLOSOUND. Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia has always shown enthusiasm in supporting the local music scenes and with their help we’re bringing this initiative to the live stage 60 floors up at JG SkyHigh.”
