Uncover the Best of the Bay Through a Collection of New Experiences Exclusive to Guests at Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco

San Francisco, U.S.A.

Be captivated by the Bay Area’s people and places with three new Extraordinary Experiences at Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco. These crafted excursions were curated by the Les Clefs d'Or concierge team at the downtown urban hotel, from a luxury exploration of the city on the water to a hands-on hot shop class taught by masters of glass at the only public glass art studio in the area.

“There are so many ways to explore San Francisco, and each itinerary allows our guests to create amazing memories in the city in a new way,” says Joerg Rodig, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco. “We want our guests to dream bigger with our collection of memorable activities, elevated the Four Seasons way in collaboration with our partners at Public Glass, Montague Gallery, and ChinChin Charters.”

See the Bay the Four Seasons Way

The spectacular scenery from the Bay makes San Francisco one of the most iconic places in the world to sail and has drawn guests to the “City by the Bay” for decades. Guests can disconnect from the bustle of the city and explore San Francisco’s natural beauty by private luxury yacht.

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco Executive Chef Cyrille Pannier creates a seasonal menu and wine pairings to enjoy while cruising the Bay. Large enough for a group of 12 friends, yet intimate enough for two, guests will sail on ChinChin, a gorgeous 58 foot (18 metre) yacht, throughout the San Francisco Bay, and take in views of Alcatraz, the downtown skyline, Bay Bridge and more.  Captain Marc, a Bay Area native, has been sailing the Bay and beyond for 35 years, and along with his knowledge of the area and Chef Cyrille’s culinary delights, this is an experience on the water like no other.

Masters of Glass

Around the corner from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and other museums and galleries, the Hotel's own contemporary art collection features 90 paintings, sculptures, prints and works in glass by more than 40 California-based artists. Connect further with professional glass artists through one of the experiences with Public Glass and Montague Gallery.

Hands-On Hot Shop Glassblowing Experience

For those seeking active participation, play with fire and experience the art of glassblowing. After a tour of Public Glass (San Francisco’s non-profit centre for glass, art, and education), a professional artist guides guests through a hands-on exercise where they manipulate molten glass, learn how to add colour, and shape it into their own decorative glass paperweight.

Guests discover just how much goes into the process of glassmaking, from the physical to the technical aspects, broadening perspectives on the glass objects in our everyday life. The experience at Public Glass sets the stage for a transformative visit to Montague Gallery in Union Square, the only gallery of its kind in San Francisco, specialising in contemporary fine art glass.

The hot shop is perfect for couples, or for multi-generational families looking for unique experiences with teen children.

Glass Demonstration Gallery Tour Experience

Watch and learn as molten glass is used to make a beautiful object right in front of your eyes at Public Glass. Guests learn about various glassmaking practices, getting a sense for local and national studio glass culture, and engaging in a dialog about the technical and physical aspects of glassmaking. A team of local and nationally recognised artists then demonstrate how to create one-of-a-kind pieces, and guests see the amazing and difficult techniques used to bring glass art to life.

Based upon this new understanding of what it takes to utilise glass as a medium, enjoy a private tour at Montague Gallery. Highlights include works by the preeminent local and international artists working in glass today, including Lino Tagliapietra, Dante Marioni and John Lewis, whose pieces are displayed in Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco and MKT Restaurant.

This collection of special experiences can be reserved through the concierge team, along with current Extraordinary Experiences: a Wine County visit with a sommelier to small, family-owned boutique wineries for behind-the-scenes access; to a Mixologist for a Day class at MKT’s private bar, which was inspired by San Francisco’s original speakeasies.
