Families check out of school and into summer with a visit to Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco and the downtown property’s family-friendly summer programming. Kicking off on May 25, 2019, Memorial Day weekend, and available through September 1, 2019, families will enjoy games on the Veranda Terrace; a Saturday movie night; a Sunday morning Junior Chef Cooking Class and more.

“Minutes from San Francisco’s Powell Street Cable Cars, Union Square, and the Museum of Ice Cream, as well as restaurants and shops, the Hotel also has activities to keep the family busy after discovering the city and its environs,” says Joerg Rodig, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco. “The adults can relax, and their children can enjoy the activities at the Hotel, so there is never a moment you hear the dreaded phrase, ‘I’m bored.’”

Fun for all, guests can spend quality time over a friendly game of Connect Four, ping pong, Jenga or chess. Located on the Hotel’s outdoor Veranda Terrace, the games overlook San Francisco’s arts and cultural core, SoMa, and Yerba Buena Gardens. Adults will enjoy the nostalgia of playing these life-size versions of their favourite games and the opportunity to connect further with each other.

Weekend stays include Saturday movies nights with family blockbusters such as Sing, Trolls and Moana. Before enjoying the movie and popcorn, consider an evening in MKT Restaurant-Bar, which overlooks the Market Street and serves thoughtfully prepared dishes to showcase the simplicity and freshness of the ingredients and welcomes kids of all ages.

On Sunday mornings, join the chefs of the Hotel as they lead an interactive junior cooking class for up to eight kids ages 7 to 11. Learn how to make home favourites such as blueberry and chocolate pancakes; the ultimate grilled cheese; pizza; and a pastry 101 class.

Beginning June 1, 2019, families can start the day right at MKT Restaurant’s popular weekend brunch buffet. It includes brunch favourites such as breakfast wraps, pastries and cereals; eggs; smoked salmon; a selection of fresh fruits and berries; an oatmeal station; and more, as well as juice and Peet’s drip coffee.

“Summer in the city is for families. There is almost too much to do,” shares Rodig. “My children and I enjoy riding the Powell-Mason Street cable car to Pier 39 to view the sea lions. They also love venturing to San Francisco’s world-class museums, like the Exploratorium and California Academy of Sciences.”
