Renowned for delivering "art with soul," Louis Parsons to return to the Lodge from June 18 to 26, and September 7 to 15, 2018

Serengeti, Tanzania

Wild and untamed, the nature of Serengeti is famous for its ability to stir the soul of so many who visit, making it a compelling destination for creatives such as Louis Parsons, who is set to return to Four Seasons Safari Lodge from June 18 to 26, and from September 7 to 15, 2018 as the property’s latest Artist in Residence.

No stranger to capturing the beauty of his environment through art, Louis Parsons is a former Artist in Residence at both Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti and Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa. As part of his residency, Parsons will offer guests the chance to be part of his famed SoulScaping work – highly personalised commissions that reflect the inner most characteristics of each individual.

“This is the place where I feel truly alive,” says Louis Parsons of the Serengeti. “There is something definitively magical about it. The vista itself is breathtaking, but the inspiration is also felt through being so close to the cradle of life; it’s as though the air itself crackles with a kind of wild beauty.”

As a student of both art and psychology, Parsons’ career has taken him on a global journey to consult and discover on aspects that allow him to better understand the human soul, which in turn have led to his creation of SoulScapes. “For me, my paintings are as much defined by the character of the person commissioning the piece as they are by the subject to be painted. And here in the Serengeti, I am able to capture this raw energy in oil on canvas, so that the viewer can take home with them some of the wild experience they have in this beautiful place.”

During his time as Artist in Residence at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, Louis Parsons will provide insights into how his artwork comes to life through live daily painting sessions and will be available for one to one consultations for SoulScaping commissions.
