The Serengeti Kani Spa Unlocks the Power of African Botanicals in New Treatment Menu at Four Seasons Safari Lodge

New TheraNaka products aid healing and nourishment, sourced with sustainability and social equity in mind

Found in the heart of nature, the Serengeti Kani Spa at Four Seasons Safari Lodge has revealed a new organic treatment menu with South African spa brand TheraNaka. Complementing the ethos of the Kani Spa, the new menu is inspired by the natural ecology of the savannah, with rejuvenation options including a choice of Ancestral Rituals, tension-relieving Migration Massages and Bushland Beauty treatments that harness the power of the region’s botanicals.

TheraNaka, which is committed to sharing the beauty of Africa, obtains raw ingredients from small suppliers in the continent who support organic certification and sustainability, and are Fairtrade and Ubuntu Natural approved – guaranteeing fair supply chains, a commitment to biodiversity conservation, social and regulatory equity, green technology and more. Local ingredients featured in the product range include marula, baobab, mongongo and shea oils, which combine with rooibos, aloe ferox, Kalahari melon, mafura butter and more in formulations that heal, moisturise, nourish and protect.

The new spa menu is designed with indigenous knowledge and traditional techniques and includes exclusively created treatments for Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti:

Tree of Life Journey - 120 minutes

Baobab – Africa’s "Tree of Life" – can live a thousand years or more. Journey into its nutrient-rich, anti-ageing glory during this revitalising boost to physical and emotional wellbeing: an intensive rooibos, kigelia and baobab oil body exfoliation as a symbol of renewal, and an uplifting massage with the reviving aromatic power of citrus essential oils in luxurious shea butter and baobab nuggets.

Ubuntu (“I am, because you are”) - 90 minutes

This signature four-handed massage is a celebration of cooperation and oneness. Suitable for all skin types, from sensitive to allergy prone, it harmonises body and mind with Ubuntu Natural approved neroli, baobab and wheatgerm oils – products derived from indigenous African plants sustainably wild-harvested by, and for the benefit of, impoverished rural communities.

“The setting we have here at the Lodge is so naturally soothing, which makes it the perfect place to dedicate meaningful time to enhancing wellness,” says Marisa Fernandes, Resort Manager at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti. “We’re thrilled to be launching this new spa menu with TheraNaka, both for the quality and natural benefits of their products as well as their vital commitment to sustainability, which is of upmost importance, particularly here in the Serengeti.”

To complement the menu of rejuvenating spa treatments, the six-suite Serengeti Kani Spa also offers a choice of yoga, meditation, Pilates and fitness classes on both a group and private basis.
