Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis Debuts Bissinger's Handcrafted Chocolate Spa Treatments

The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis and Bissinger’s have partnered to create three new chocolate based treatments.

Bissinger’s, a St. Louis chocolatier, has been crafting award-winning chocolates for more than 350 years. Their proprietary cocoa blend is crafted from beans responsibly sourced from western Africa for chocolate that’s decadently rich, smooth and velvety, providing the perfect base for luxurious treatments.

“We are thrilled to provide our guests with unique treatments that will indulge all the senses,” says Spa and Salon Director Erin Stewart. “Not only does dark chocolate taste amazing, it is also beneficial to the body; cocoa, high in antioxidants absorbs skin damaging free radicals, while the mood-lifting scent instantly relaxes the mind and body throughout the services.”

The benefits of chocolate are no secret. Antioxidants are thought to have dramatic anti-ageing effects to fight against free-radical damage, while the high caffeine content stimulates circulation, allowing blood to naturally rejuvenate and heal damaged skin. The natural oils found in cocoa butter also provide a deep nourishing effect to retain moisture long after a treatment has ended.

The Decadence Ritual, Cocoa Facial and Chocolate-Dipped Manicure are available Monday through Sunday in the Spa and Salon.

For those craving an additional experience, Bissinger’s opens its doors to Four Seasons guests on Mondays through Thursdays to experience a behind-the-scenes tour of the downtown historic chocolate factory and various tastings throughout the year.
