The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi launches a trio of newly crafted rejuvenation experiences – the perfect way to add some much-needed wellness to the summer months.

Located in the heart of downtown Tokyo, this healing oasis evokes Japanese traditions through an extraordinary selection of massages, facials and other wellness rituals. The use of water features and natural materials conjures a calming atmosphere, inviting wellness seekers to disconnect from the bustle of the city.

Through the year, guests can discover signature seasonal treatments, designed to rebalance mind, body and spirit. Wellbeing sessions at the Spa can be extended with a visit to the hydro-facilities, including the steam sauna, jet showers and onsen (traditional hot spring baths).

“Along with catering to in-house guests, our Spa is also a favourite among local residents,” explains Chief Therapist Suzuka Kitamura. Located just a three-minute walk from Tokyo Station, this boutique wellness hideaway is easy to access from everywhere in Tokyo – and beyond.

New Facials by ishga

Taking inspiration from the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the Spa team introduces organic and sustainable products by ishga, a UK-based skincare line. “We are the first hotel spa in Japan to offer ishga treatments,” notes Suzuka.

ishga’s star ingredient is organic seaweed from the pure waters of the Hebridean Sea, off the coast of Scotland. Harvested by hand through a low-temperature technique, this unique seaweed extract is rich in beneficial compounds, enzymes and antioxidants. The brand’s skincare products also feature Hebridean sea salt, which is naturally packed with healthful vitamins and minerals.

Now, guests can experience the life-giving power of the Hebridean Sea with two new facials at Four Seasons Spa. Designed for restoration as well as radiance, the ishga Beyond Facial cleanses, nourishes and renews the delicate facial skin. Emerge from this luxurious 60-minute ritual feeling relaxed and looking luminous.

Focused on cleansing and detoxification, the ishga Marine Drainage Facial includes a skilful massage of the neck, shoulders, back and arms. Harnessing the purifying properties of marine ingredients, the therapist uses special techniques to promote lymphatic circulation – not just on the face but throughout the body. This relaxing treatment regulates skin tone and provides a healthy dose of hydration.

“To maximize the results, we recommend using the fitness and onsen facilities before either facial treatment,” says Suzuka.

Being the only company allowed to harvest seaweed in the Hebridean Sea region, ishga is known for its sustainable approach. It is certified organic by Soil Association, a renowned certification body in the UK.
