Washington, DC, U.S.A.

For the past 40 years, Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC has had the pleasure of serving the DC community and making memories to last a lifetime for guests. The 450+ employees have been engaged community members, passionately giving to others in need year-round. Last year alone, the team helped raise more than USD 500,000 for the Washington, DC community through sponsored events for charities such as Race to Beat Cancer, benefiting MedStar Washington Hospital Center; Thanksgiving on the Mayflower, benefiting DC first responders; and Light Up the Season benefiting Children's Hospital.

“The employees of Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC are a group of hardworking and compassionate individuals who have always lived by the Golden Rule, taking care of guests and each other day after day,” says Regional Vice President and General Manager David Bernand. “We are incredibly grateful and humbled by the community support for the Meal Relief Fund, and we are proud to work closely with our partners at the Mina Group to lend a helping hand and home-cooked meal to those most in needed during this difficult time.”

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospitality industry in the city and globally has been devastated by the loss of travellers and severe reduction in business. While Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC has remained open during this time, the Hotel and its employees have been directly impacted. Every effort has been made to keep as many employees on schedule as possible and the Hotel continues to pay medical benefits while the employees are on reduced hours or furlough.

Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC has always considered colleagues as family and will be participating in the Mina Group’s highly successful Family Meal Program, launched last month at Mina Restaurants across the United States. The goal is to provide hot meals for hotel employees and their families during this difficult time. Every USD 20 donated can feed a family of four.

A GoFundMe page has been created and in the first week, the outpouring of support from the DC community and from guests of the Hotel has been awe-inspiring, raising more than USD 19 000. The Hotel has been inspired by the community support and commitment to those facing the immediate personal impact of this pandemic on their own lives. 100 percent of donations will go directly to Four Seasons and Mina Group DC Employee Meal Relief Fund, assisting employees in danger of losing housing and other essential resources by helping keep their family fed. Four Seasons managers and culinary leaders are donating their time to help prepare and distribute the meals.

Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC remains open, with limited services and in respect of the latest government guidelines, to accommodate guests that need to come to DC. For more information, visit the Hotel's website or call +1 202 342 0444.
