Prominent chefs and winemakers will gather for the first annual event

July 15, 2022,
Washington, DC, U.S.A.

Chef Michael Mina, Bourbon Steak DC Chef Robert Curtis and sommelier Winn Roberton, and Matt Wilson of Company Fine Wine announce their plan for the first annual Georgetown Wine & Dine Weekend, to be held November 4-6, 2022 at Bourbon Steak DC and Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC. Proceeds from the weekend long retreat for wine lovers, foodies and fine wine collectors will support the humanitarian relief efforts of World Central Kitchen. Visiting owners and winemakers and notable chefs will mingle with guests over the course of a weekend featuring three days of culinary festivities that include tastings, masterclasses, a Virginia wine country escape, a Champagne brunch, and a showcase celebrity chef and winemaker dinner.

Tickets to Georgetown Wine & Dine Weekend will be offered a la carte through the event website, and together in the Grand Cru Package, which will grant premier access and suite accommodations at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC.

The Georgetown Wine & Dine Weekend’s key event will be the November 5 celebrity winemaker and chef's dinner at Bourbon Steak hosted by Chefs Michael Mina, Adam Sobel and Robert Curtis and featuring Chefs Kyle Connaughton, Mei Lin, Michael Rafidi, and Bryan and Michael Voltaggio. The chefs will be joined by Matt Wilson and Ashley Meeker of Company Fine Wine, Kate Green and Helen Keplinger of Grace Family Vineyards, Kris Kraner and Braiden Albrecht of Mayacamas, Armand de Maigret of Screaming Eagle, James D’Arcy of Macallan, with other participants to be announced soon. Joining the winemakers will be special guests from Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul’s Dos Hombres mezcal, who will be pouring cocktails featuring their signature spirit.

“We’re so excited to have these wonderful winemakers and chefs in to join our exceptional craftspeople at Bourbon Steak for this event,” says Chef Mina. “It’s such an opportunity to show off the great period of American food and wine we find ourselves in. Our goal is to make this the preeminent annual wine event not just of the DC area, but of the whole East Coast. Looking at the lineup we have planned for this initial weekend, I think we are on the right track.”

In addition to the November 5 showcase dinner, the events include an opening tasting reception on November 4 at Bourbon Steak with a welcome glass of champagne, passed plates, wine and spirit tastings and chef stations. On Saturday host sommelier Roberton will lead a retreat to Virginia wine country with Early Mountain Vineyards for a tour of the vineyard, on-site tastings, and a truffle lunch with other Virginia winemakers and wines. Back at Four Seasons, those sticking around town can enjoy educational masterclasses with guest wine and spirit makers that will include lunch and tastings of wines from Napa Valley, Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Italy, as well as select cognac, bourbon and scotch. After the evening’s celebrity winemakers and chefs dinner, the Georgetown Wine & Dine Weekend will conclude with a Sunday morning champagne brunch with shellfish and caviar stations.
