Four Seasons Resort Whistler Brings a Taste of Mexico Poolside This Summer

Four Seasons Resort Whistler is bringing a bit of Mexico to the Coastal Mountains this summer. Taste the best of both worlds as guests bask in the fleeting magnificence that is a Pacific Northwest summer–with a fresh cocktail in hand from the Hotel’s brand-new Margarita Shack, available daily from 1:00 to 7:00 pm at the pool.

A vibrant addition to the lively poolside atmosphere, this funky shack was created by Four Seasons own in-house artist and painter Laura Barnes, and designed to recall snack bars found along the beaches of Mexico.

Behind the bar is Four Seasons team member and bartender Rocio Mogollon. Hailing from Mexico, Mogollon and the rest of the bar team bring a taste of her home country to Whistler. Her playful flavours are instantly transportive - soak up the sun and experience the sweet bliss of summer.

“I consider myself a globetrotter and I am always trying to show, everywhere I go, a little about what makes Mexico so special to me,” Mogollon says. “The inspiration for the Margarita Menu was all the refreshing ingredients you can find during the summer, with a little kick that takes you right to paradise. I can't wait to share a bit of my home this summer.”

Her take includes tropical tastes such as Pasión with fresh passion fruit purée, or the spicy, savoury Mex I Can with a celery and jalapeño shrub. Or a classic Mexican ingredient, the hibiscus flower, mingling with spicy-sweet ginger in the Hibiscus and Ginger Margarita.

With visions of palm trees, coconuts, and sandy beaches dancing in one’s head, sip on one of Mogollon’s divine creations. Stop by the Margarita Shack for a libation, sick back, relax and let worries drift away. Salud!

• Bonita - Reposado tequila, Cointreau, lemon juice, homemade cardamom bitters
• La Catrina - Añejo tequila, Cointreau, agave syrup, lime juice, fresh mix of berries
