Patrick Pollak joined the team at Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou as the highest Four Seasons hotel celebrated its fifth year anniversary. A Four Seasons veteran of more than twenty years, Pollak brings to his role well-tracked luxury hospitality experience across America and Mexico. Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou is his first placement in Asia as he continues his Four Seasons adventure globally.

 “I am thrilled to be part of the team of Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou,” says Pollak. “It is an iconic and breathtaking property in the heart of a thriving metropolis. Not only is Guangzhou one of the largest cities in China but it is also a major economic engine of the region and the trading capital of the world. I am so happy to be able to join such a successful team and immerse myself in the Chinese culture.”

From France, Pollak is a Hotel and Restaurant Management graduate of the top-notch Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France. Not long after his graduation, he joined his first Four Seasons hotel in the city of Mexico where he was born and grew up. Starting as a food and beverage manager, Pollak ascended through various positions in the following five years. Later his hospitality passion and vision urged him to move around with opportunities of transferring to Chicago and then Punta Mita before returning to Mexico again in 2007, serving as Hotel Manager. Another four years later he moved on again to Dallas and most recently to Hawaii prior to joining Guangzhou.

Fluent in French, Spanish and English, Pollak is taking Mandarin language classes together with his family who join him in this exciting new chapter with their move to Asia.

When he is not being social and meeting guests around the Hotel, Pollak also enjoys rally car racing and watching games of his favourite team Manchester United. It is an unexpected bonus for him to find that Guangzhou is also a city of football, though it is too early to say if one day he will be seen cheering on a local football team at the Tianhe Stadium. However, most and foremost, Pollak enjoys spending time with his lovely family – wife Paola, their daughter Gaelle and son Matthis.

“Guangzhou is the capital of Cantonese cuisine and we are looking forward to discover the many delicacies this type of cuisine brings,” says Pollak, a “foodie” at heart.
