Four Seasons has a reputation of hand-picking each and every employee to ensure that they are the best of the best in each department. The guest services category is especially important because it represents the shining face of the hotel. Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island could not pick someone more perfect than Fabienne Krug to take on the role of Guest Relations and Concierge Manager. Her education and experience with four different hotels across Europe and USA makes her a truly seasoned professional.
For Fabienne, this is a dream come true. “I have always wanted to become a hotel manager. I knew I would need to climb that ladder but I was also aware as long as my work was my hobby it would be as easy as ABC," she comments with a cheeky smile. “I think I do not exaggerate when I say that being part of Four Seasons is not only my dream, it is a dream for any hotelier who really aspires to be the best of all. Being a part of this architectural icon in the heart of Al Maryah Island will be a hallmark of my career.”
Nevertheless, just like any other success story, this one did not come to be without its own challenges. Fabienne’s biggest obstacle was trying to "talk like a local" without actually being one. “It is very challenging to be the Guest Relations and Concierge Manager for a hotel outside of your native country because knowledge of the land is of the utmost importance.” Fortunately, this particular challenge did not stop her from doing what she is excelling in: creating lifetime memories for everyone staying in the Hotel. “I have always felt home here in Abu Dhabi. This charming Emirate - often referred to as ‘Land of the Gazelle’ – has always been so gracious to me. The moment I landed here I immediately felt home and this was due to the welcoming nature of the city. For this I will always be thankful to Abu Dhabi and its people.”
Driven by the single priority of working her magic to make Four Seasons guests happy, Fabienne always remains devoted and passionate. “When I receive a hand-written thank you note from a past guest, or an unforgettable handshake upon check-out, I just know I am at the right place and my job is truly worthwhile.”
Fabienne remains just as dedicated to her hobby as she does to her job. “Travelling to me is like morning coffee to others,” she adds with a smile. “As much as possible, I commit myself to travelling at least twice a month so that I can explore the Middle East and learn about its people and culture.” Fabienne is a wonderful combination of a world traveller and a dedicated guest relations manager. Her own happiness comes from making others smile whether they are Hotel guests or individuals she meets during her adventure trips.
