Born in Kuwait City, Kuwait and raised in Cairo, Egypt, Amro El-Naqa has since travelled the world on his journey as a hotelier. Inspired by his mother’s independence and drive (she bravely left Kuwait as a young woman, moved to Egypt and became CEO of a major investment company), Amro set out to see the world and experience different places, people, and cultures.

“My mother opened the door for me to explore the world – from my international hospitality education to my work experience since. Her ‘can-do’ spirit is what has led me to pursue my dreams, as she did before me.”

While at university, Amro completed two internships (one in London and one in Cairo), as he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Hotel and Tourism Management from the Higher Institute for Hotel and Tourism Management. His studies took place in both Hurghada, Egypt and Lucerne, Switzerland.

In 2006, he moved to Chicago, where he participated in the management program at the famed Drake Hotel. From there, Amro moved back to Cairo, where he served as a manager at Conrad Cairo, and later Fairmont Nile City. In 2011, Amro moved to New York City, to join the team at the acclaimed Plaza Hotel. After opening the Westin Wilmington in Delaware, Amro moved to Bermuda as director of operations at the Coral Beach & Tennis Club. Amro joined The Ritz-Carlton organization in 2017, initially at Los Angeles & JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live, then at the Dubai International Financial Centre, and later in Chicago, where he was director of hotel operations. Prior to joining Four Seasons Hotel Houston as Hotel Manager in 2023, Amro was director of operations at The Miami Beach EDITION.

Amro speaks English, and Arabic (Egyptian and Middle East), and enjoys long runs, swimming, reading, and spending time with his wife Dr. Hajar Righi and family.
