Monica de la Torre studied restaurant management and culinary arts in her native Mexico City before relocating to Barcelona, Spain to follow her dreams of becoming a pastry chef. She began her career studying and working under famed Spanish Pastry Chef Oriol Balaguer. During her stay in Spain, she discovered her passion for wine and completed her education at sommelier school in Escuela de Hostelería y Restauración de Barcelona and The Court of Master Sommeliers.
After ten years in Spain, Monica returned in 2016 to Mexico to join Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita as Sommelier and Beverage Manager. Her contagious enthusiasm for hospitality is apparent each and every day at the Resort. Monica also serves as a wine expert for Forbes Mexico.
