Discover a completely new dimension to your favourite game in the company of a local nighttime gallery that could include howler monkeys, iguanas and pizotes (raccoons) when you experience privately guided Nocturnal Golf at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo in Guanacaste. Gain first-hand looks at the rare flora and fauna who share the 220-acre course amid 25 species of giant trees and new insights into the eco-friendly practices that preserve them on this certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

Limited to just four golfers, you begin with a 6:00 pm practice round at the driving range of the Arnold Palmer-designed 18-hole par-72 championship course to adjust to night vision goggle play. Then walk with your guide as you play holes 1 and 9. Hole 1, Las Huacas, par-5, 543-yards, features a sharp dogleg with the option to shorten the hole by shooting over the bunkers at the dogleg corner or drive down the wide fairway. Hole 9, Pizote, par-5, 522-yards, plays through the lush Nascascolo Forest, with a rock-lined stream that protects the course’s most severely contoured green.

You’ll have an assist beneath the starry night sky with a line of lights along the fairways and a circle of light on the greens. Lanterns are also available to the light the way as you walk the course with pull-carts. Conclude with a private guided walk to Nacascolo Beach, protected by the Bahia Culebra headlands, with a white sand beach, mangrove and abundant fish, for more tropical nightlife wonders.
