Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt

With its recently unveiled expansion, Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt invites sunseekers to sleek new guest rooms and suites, sunlit pools, one-kilometre (two thirds of a mile) of a private palm-lined beachfront and an expanded dive centre complementing the Arabesque architecture and lush gardens. Just a short drive from the airport, luxurious seaside living is elevated to new levels within minutes of landing in Sharm El Sheikh.

Our welcoming team of cultured local insiders will connect you with the best of this enriching Red Sea destination, whether it’s underwater, above water, or exploring the extraordinary landscapes that make this sea-meets-desert destination a perennial favourite.

Kids are well catered for, too, with dedicated pools and swimming lessons, as well as a whole world of family excursions to embark on, from watersports to private yacht charters, and even diving certification for children from the age of 10. It may be hard to keep the little ones away from the Resort’s Kids For All Seasons club, where beach and pool games as well as a full program of creative activities keep younger guests engaged. Teens have their own dedicated space with PlayStation, X Box, billiards, air hockey, table tennis and foosball, although the well-connected Concierge team can arrange adventures to celebrate the rich local culture and spectacular surrounding scenery. From beachfront Bedouin breakfasts to camel and quad bike safaris in the desert, full-day cruises and much more, there’s so much awaiting those who want to forge deep connections with these extraordinary vistas where desert mountains meet the reef-filled sea.

Linger a moment in the Resort’s palm-laced gardens, crystal clear Red Sea waters teeming with colourful marine life, and five refreshing swimming pools and you’ll soon see why this is the perfect summer retreat. And with the return of the Fifth Night Free offer for every four-night stay booked, you’ll have even more time to soak it all up/bathe in the sunlight.

The Red Sea, golden sands and secluded sunbathing coves have always been the biggest draw for visitors to Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh, and with good reason. Here are five of our favourite ways to enjoy five days in Egypt’s diving capital this summer.

Dive Deep

The Resort’s PADI dive centre experts can tell you where to go for the best chance of finding Nemo, as well as the best sites to meet dolphins, explore historic shipwrecks and embark on exciting night dives. With 76 dive sites within a day’s boat ride of the Resort and two spectacular house reefs onsite, divers and snorkelers can immerse themselves in unspoilt underwater worlds. The Dive Centre Director of Operations Riham Hussein and her team have been lucky to call the Red Sea home, and welcome the opportunity to tailor trips for all age groups from beginners looking to discover the underwater world for the first time, to experts keen on exploring WWII wrecks such as the SS Thistlegorm, complete with motorbikes and trucks still in situ, effectively an underwater museum.

Splash on the Surface

For those who prefer to remain on the surface, the Dive Centre has kayaks and stand-up paddle boards for self-powered fun, as well as motorised watersports like wakeboarding for the adrenaline-seekers, parasailing through Sharm El Sheikh’s clear blue skies, and banana-boating for family fun. For a more leisurely way to sail the Red Sea, ask the Concierge to arrange a private yacht charter. Whether cruising the coast or swooning over a spectacular sunset, it’s guaranteed to leave you with long-lasting memories.

Pool Time

When the temperatures start to rise, the Resort’s five swimming pools are the perfect places for lounging while the bright smiles of the pool attendants pass frequently with complimentary refreshments. Families should head to the irresistible waters of the palm-fringed Waha Pool with its adjacent Aladdin Pool, perfect for little ones to splash around in with its shallow depth of just 60 centimetres (two feet). Luna infinity pool, with majestic views out to Tiran Island and beyond, is perfect for those who want to soak up the rays – and perhaps a Latin American-inspired cocktail or two alongside the dreamy poolscape from poolside Luna restaurant.

Or dive into nature’s greatest pool, the Red Sea just offshore, and spend a relaxing time embraced by the shade of palm trees and glittering water views.

The Latest in Luxury Accommodation - for Couples and Multi-Generational Families

The Resort’s recent expansion has created even more accommodation options for families travelling together this summer, as well as elevated stays for couples, many of which come with their own private pools. Whether you’re visiting with kids and grandparents, here on a romantic retreat, on a girls’ getaway or simply travelling solo, there’s something for everyone.

Families love the two-bedroom Imperial Suite with its own full-sized swimming pool and expansive Red Sea views. Grand living and dining rooms flow outside to the pool terrace where comfortable sofas provide perfect lounging areas, and plenty of space for an unforgettable barbecue dinner.

The Royal Suite is a hit with groups of friends, having its own private beach, lush lawn with towering palms that’s great for a private sunrise yoga class, and a vast wrap-around terrace with a 40-square-metre (430 square foot) private pool.

And the Junior Suite with Plunge Pool is the perfect hideaway for a couple in love to lean into relaxed sophistication and gaze upon lush gardens. This romantic one-bedroom hideaway is both picturesque and private with its own poolside terrace to sunbathe in privacy or dine under the stars.

Dine Around the World

With twelve restaurants and bars to choose from, Executive Chef Sebastiano Spriveri and his team have redefined dining in Sharm El Sheikh. The sun-dappled culinary scene presents a cuisine inspired by coastal elements on the menu offering a selection of summery dishes and cocktails that burst with flavour.

The Resort’s recent expansion added four new restaurants – Lebanese Zitouni, Asian Yatai, poolside Luna and Breeze beach bar – offering a journey through cuisines of the world, from the Middle East to Asia, Latin America and beyond, with the sound of Red Sea waves lapping on to the shore.

Poolside, sunseekers head to long-time favourite Waha, a relaxed, shady spot at the Resort’s original heart. Savour vacation favourites as you start the day with a delectable cooling iced coffee followed by a scoop or two of homemade ice cream.

Over by the infinity pool, Luna’s Mexican Chef de Cuisine Jorge Ariko takes guests on a journey through summer-perfect Latin American flavours. Think guacamole, ceviche and tacos, as well as plancha-roasted octopus for a taste of the ocean. Churros and grilled pineapple are the perfect finales to a lunch enjoyed between dips in Luna pool with its infinite Red Sea views.

At Breeze, the name says it all. It’s the perfect spot for bare-foot relaxation, whether you’re heading out on an aquatic adventure or just want to soak up casual beach-chic vibes and cooling breezes as summer unfolds all around you. Kick off your shoes and sip on one of the seasonally crafted cocktails created by the mixology team. It’s the perfect way to enjoy Sharm El Sheikh’s long summer days by the water.
