Surfside, Florida, U.S.A

Moments from Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club in Surfside, Florida, an abundance of unforgettable Miami experiences awaits you. Our exceptional team can assist with planning the ultimate day of exploration by land and sea.

Art Deco Architecture Walk

Fanciful Art Deco buildings, pastel in colour and boasting porthole windows, sleek curves and gleaming terrazzo floors, are a symbolic backdrop of Miami’s landscape. Starting at The Surf Club and heading north on Collins Avenue, you’ll find a collection of nine nearly intact late-Art Deco and Miami Modern apartment buildings on a single block. Named the Collins Avenue Historic District, each of the nine buildings was designed by a notable mid-20th century Miami architect and date between 1946 and 1957, a period which was key in Surfside’s development.

Moonlight Kayaking at Oleta State Park

Paddle under the moonlight and through a peaceful mangrove trail into the calm waters of Biscayne Bay during a guided nighttime tour of Oleta State Park. Your guide will illuminate the way to the park’s private beach where tiki torches line the beach and decadent ingredients for s’mores are ready for the making.

Mansions of Miami Beach

It is often said that the best way to experience Miami is on its glistening waters. From nearby Haulover Marina, take a private yacht south on the gentle waters of Biscayne Bay towards South Beach and along the way you’ll journey through a collection of legendary man-made islands aptly named Star, Hibiscus and Palm. The view from the bay offers a glimpse of some of the most dazzling properties in the world, many owned by high-profile music, sports and entertainment figures.

Tee Time

Spend a sun-filled morning on the lush fairways of Miami’s renowned golf courses, including the Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest-designed Miami Beach Country Club, a masterfully restored landmark originally introduced in 1923. The nearby village of Normandy is home to the Normandy Shores Golf Club, which is recognised for its abundant water challenges and rolling fairways set against Biscayne Bay.

Beachside Cycling

Visit Surfside’s highly acclaimed Josh’s Deli to pack a nostalgic picnic lunch before riding down a palm tree lined trail leading north along the shoreline. Two miles (3.2 kilometres) down the path take a break for a seaside picnic near the Haulover Jetty, which is surrounded by fishermen catching fresh snapper and sun bathers on the powder white sand. Families can journey to the field at nearby Haulover Marina and marvel at the fluttering whimsical creations at Skyward Kites, a mainstay in the area for nearly 25 years. On the journey back to The Surf Club indulge in the flavours of local ice cream shop Serendipity Creamery,  which offers unique creations incorporating ingredients from South Florida farms and artisans such as Paradise Farms and Panther Coffee.
