It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

To celebrate the most joyous season, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler welcomes guests to an indoor sparkling woodland designed by the local florist and designe, Senka. The biggest source of inspiration for this year’s festive decoration was the simple, raw and natural beauty of Whistler. Inspired by snow-capped peaks and the pristine evergreen forests surrounding the Resort, the designers have perfectly combined the grace of snow falling with the rugged forest floor and the organic contours of the winter landscape.

Upon entering the lobby, guests are met with snow-filled pendants dangling from the ceiling, mimicking the elegance of snow coming down. Surrounding the unique Christmas tree is an assortment of foliage intertwined between all areas of the lobby. “We wanted to create something that represented an intersection between unique and unconventional, and yet paid homage to the place we call home. Our main installation consists of a sea of suspended pinecones and delicate glass bubbles housing dried floral. These dance around moss sculptures wrapped with branches that have been manipulated to resemble twisted roots,” says Felicia Tan, floral designer at Senka Florist.

The artwork also includes a gold star made from foraged twig, a geometric rock, created from mossy branches, and a ball of dried gypsophila made to resemble a snow heap, sitting quietly at the base of the tree to complete and tie all the elements together.
