Born in Panama, Joyce Piatt was raised in a military family, also living in Germany after Central America. It was through her family's frequent moves that she experienced many hotels, which led to her decision to attend University of Nevada-Las Vegas, where she received a Bachelors in Hotel Administration. She started her hotel career at the The Broadmoor, a AAA Five-Diamond rated property since 1976. "I was fortunate enough to have tremendous leaders at my first job who were generous of their time and knowledge, ultimately inspiring me to continue on my path in hotel events," she sats.
Returning to Nevada in 2001, Piatt was named Senior Conference Services Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. Colorado called again in 2002, where she worked at Omni Interlocken in Broomfield as senior catering and conference services manager. In 2004, she was named director of catering and conference services, followed by an appointment as assistant general manager at the St. Julien Hotel, a contemporary hotel in the heart of Boulder, Colorado, in 2008.
As Director of Catering at Four Seasons Hotel Denver, Piatt looks to create events that are unique and simply fun. "Even with meetings, we have the distinct opportunity to provide guests with something truly memorable - and, of course, the intuitive service of Four Seasons," she says.
Continuing her globe-trotting well into adulthood, Piatt collects memories from her trips. "Traveling to Korea, Paris, Greece and others, I draw inspiration from my travels to design unique events at Four Seasons."
Enjoying life elevated once again, she finds Denver the perfect place for a sports enthusiast - as a Denver Broncos football fan - and the perfect place for her and her husband to raise their young twin sons.
