Simon Li finished the WSET LEVEL 3 in 2016 when he moved to Hangzhou and was honoured to become a member of Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne in 2019. Now, he leads the wine program at Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake as Head Sommelier andis  a major asset in Jin Sha and WL Bistro, managing a selection of almost 300 wines and 1200 bottles in stock.

In 2015 and 2019, Simon got the chance to explore the winery journey of Italy and France to gain all aspects of wine knowledge. Under Simon’s leadership, Jin Sha won the Three Glasses by China Wine List of the Year from 2017, China Best Small Champagne List-Less than 30 Champagnes-Eastern China by Sommelier Francoise, and himself honoured the Silver medal winner of Sake Sommelier competition by Asia Wine Institute.

As an experienced sommelier, Simon believes life is a long-term learning process, he drives himself not only to have a deep understanding of the wine but also launched a Sommelier in Training program and aims to develop staff with vineyard and oenology knowledge, how to carry out a food pairing. In 2017 to 2019, Simon led the team to participate in the China Young Sommelier Team Competition and won the "Top 10" award, and he had a chance to visited the winery in Ningxia, which is China's most famous wine region and is beginning to recognised for its premium cabernet sauvignon production. Four times each year, he organises a wine dinner to provide guests the unique opportunity to experience and enjoy an all-star lineup of stylistically distinct wines.

In 2020, Simon worked with Lorenzo Antinori, Beverage Manager and Beverage Ambassador, APAC from Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong and Philip Bischoff, Beverage Manager-Beverage Ambassador, APAC from Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River to set up the APAC Live Tasting Program to elevate the beverage knowledge of teammates, leverage relationships with meaningful brand partners, and most importantly, create a stronger bonds within the Food and Beverage division.

Now, Simon is also working with Ecospirit and trying to reduce the Hotel's carbon footprint, encourage low carbon and low waste spirits and end single use glass.
