From racing down roller coasters at Asia’s best theme parks to reliving history at the city’s largest museum, Hong Kong has a dazzling array of activities to keep kids engaged and entertained.
Double the theme park adventure
Hong Kong has two theme parks – Ocean Park in Aberdeen and Disneyland on Lantau Island. Ocean Park offers a sea animal adventure complete with rides for all ages. Guests can even book a dolphin swim. Disneyland offers shows, rides, and of course Mickey Mouse. While at Disneyland, be sure to check out Inspiration Lake for a fun picnic option.
Discover the Past at Hong Kong Heritage Museum
Wander around Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Covering 32,000 square meters (105,000 square feet), it is the city’s largest museum. The Children’s Discovery Gallery has eight play zones just for kids 4-10 years old. Kids can don Cantonese Opera costumes, including make-up and a full headdress using computers.
Admire nature at Hong Kong Wetland Park
The 600,000 square meters (60-hectare) wetland reserve contains freshwater swamps, mangroves, bird-watching platforms and a butterfly garden for children to learn the importance of wetland conservation and how wetlands support biodiversity. In winter, catch the migration as birds from the north stop for a rest in the wetlands on their journey south.
Indoor Fun at SuperPark
SuperPark, a Finnish import, believes in the power of free play. With over 4,200 square meters (45,000 square feet) of indoor activities, children and the young at heart can expect hours of excitement. The day will fly by with a climbing wall and batting cage, a trampoline, golf range and obstacle course, zip lines, pedal cars, skate park and much, much more.
