Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole announces the appointment of Rui de Sousa Lopes as the new Director of Food and Beverage. Lopes joins the property from Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica, where he most recently served as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage.

“Rui’s creativity and passion for food and beverage will be a great asset to our team here in Jackson Hole,” says General Manager Ryan Grande. “His international experience and depth of knowledge will help us continue to elevate our food and beverage experience on property.”

Lopes brings more than 16 years of global food and beverage experience to his new role in Jackson Hole, having worked in Europe, the Middle East and Central America.  He joined Four Seasons in 2019 as Director of Outlets in Costa Rica, overseeing the property’s four restaurants and bars.  Last year, Lopes was promoted to Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, overseeing a USD 20 million operation. During his time in Costa Rica, he managed an extensive renovation of the Resort's Italian restaurant and oversaw the roll out of a new USD 2 million beach club.

“Joining Four Seasons in an idyllic location such as Costa Rica was a turning point in my life,” says Lopes. “I discovered a culture that truly walks the talk in taking care of its people, allowing me to drive a bold team mindset of innovation and never settling for less. I am beyond thrilled to join the amazing team at Jackson Hole to elevate the food and beverage experience, and experience what the true mountain lifestyle and world-class skiing is all about.”

Prior to joining Four Seasons, Lopes held several food and beverage roles for the Ritz-Carlton and Shangri-La hotels throughout the Middle East and Europe. He speaks an impressive four languages and earned his bachelor's degree from Escola Superior de Hotelaria e Turismo do Estoril, Portugal.

When not working, Lopes loves to cook, hike and powerlift. The latter hobby he has been doing for two years and he hopes to compete one day. Married just last year, Lopes and his wife Taisiya are excited to explore their new home in the mountains, along with their basset hound puppy Alfie.
