Ni Luh Gde Suryatini (Surya) has made her passion for art into a career. Previously responsible for Ganesha Gallery, the predecessor to Ganesha Cultural Centre, Surya curated painting exhibitions by local artists and held monthly events to give artists a chance to show their work and connect with an international audience.

She was one of the masterminds for the Gallery's transformation into the Cultural Centre, expanding its scope from painting exhibitions to become an interactive and experiential space dedicated to workshops in a variety of Balinese arts. Surya hand-picks traditional artists from different parts of the island who are masters in their chosen craft, whether woodcarving, painting, songket-weaving, dance and music, ceramic painting and more. Guests are invited to take a lesson and actively support local artists to preserve and celebrate Bali’s heritage as the only remaining Hindu civilisation in Indonesia.
