Born and raised in Southern California, Robby Delaney earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from California State University San Marcos. At home on San Diego’s gorgeous coastline, Delaney grew up teaching surf lessons during the summer, before ultimately kick-starting a career in hospitality at Four Seasons Resort Aviara at North San Diego in 2007. Delaney quickly rose through the ranks within the Four Seasons family with career highlights including joining the pre-opening team at Four Seasons Hotel Denver; securing or maintaining a Five-Star Forbes Travel Guide rating, the highest honour from the global authority in luxury travel, at multiple properties; and a leadership role at the brand’s iconic Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel on Rodeo Drive. In 2017, Delaney was appointed as Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel Seattle, in the heart of the city’s downtown.

In February 2020, Delaney made the trans-Pacific journey to Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, to join the team as Resort Manager. The move represented a homecoming of sorts for Delaney’s family, as wife Liann grew up on Maui and daughter Makena was named after Liann’s favourite beach to visit during her childhood. Of course, no stranger to sand and surf, Delaney quickly embraced the island’s laidback outdoor lifestyle.

As Resort Manager, Delaney oversees all operations of the legendary Forbes Five-Star resort, with the aim of creating an exceptional guest and employee experience, which he says starts with connections. “Early in my career, I heard the saying ‘proximity breeds care.’ Connecting with one another has always been central to all I do both at work and personally. In today’s world, I find it more important than ever.” With this in mind, Delaney finds ways to collaborate with all departments daily, and accepts responsibility for the health and safety of all guests and employees.

When he is not taking care of the Resort’s operations, Delaney enjoys making his wife and daughter laugh at any cost, travelling, and crossing off his golf bucket list course-by-course.
