Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita Announces Week-Long Culinary Celebrations for Chinese New Year 2019
Luxury Mauritius Resort set to host Asian culinary festival to welcome the Year of the Pig, February 4–10, 2019
To welcome the Year of the Pig – a year representing great fortune and luck - Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita will host a week-long culinary festival to celebrate the elegance of fine Chinese and Asian cuisines, featuring influences from the ethnicity of Mauritius and past colonial glamour era, from February 4 to 10, 2019. In celebration of the New Year, the Resort’s restaurants will be transformed into contemporary Asian eateries, spanning from the traditional to a selection of street food and pop-up concepts.
Chinese New Year Eve
To bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new lunar year in style, Bambou Restaurant will play host to the celebrations on February 5, 2019. A hot and cold Asian Flair buffet with a number of live cooking stations will feature a menu that marries tradition with dishes symbolising endless wealth, surplus and prosperity, to offer a seamless celebration of nostalgia, creativity and global influence.
A Journey of Culinary Discovery
Throughout the week, the Resort’s culinary team, led by Executive Chef Nicolas Vienne, who is himself a connoisseur of Chinese cuisine, will recreate the style and tradition of a Chinese culinary celebration, with dishes that are familiar at first glance being reimagined with a twist. Drawing influence from across Asia and local recipes, menus will offer a story of Chinese provenance in a new, exotic setting.
In addition to the traditional lion dance and a fireworks display above the Indian Ocean lagoon on Chinese New Year’s Eve, the week’s entertainment will be populated with a number of live musical and dance performances, including a Chinese quartet.
Accommodation at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita ranges from One- to Five-Bedroom Villas, allowing flexibility and choice for families and couples alike, with all featuring a pool, private terrace and tropical garden. The Resort offers a wide choice of recreational activities, including watersports, cycling, tennis, golf on an Ernie Els Design course, yoga classes and much more.
