Sebastien Carre has been appointed Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita, ahead of the Resort’s much anticipated reopening on October 1, 2021. An accomplished hotelier with more than 30 years of global experience, Carre takes up his role in Mauritius, with additional regional oversight of both Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island.

Transitioning from his most recent role of Regional Vice President and General Manager at Four Seasons of Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff in Johannesburg, Carre is no stranger to the wider region, with his extensive insights set to complement an impressive history of luxury hotel and resort tenures, including leisure destinations ranging from Tahiti to Provence, Bora Bora to Sharm el Sheikh, and a prior tenure in Mauritius earlier in his career.

Carre takes up his new role just ahead of the border reopening in Mauritius, which is set to see the island known as the "Star of the Indian Ocean" welcome fully vacinated travellers for a quarantine-free vacation after more than 18 months of border closures due to the global impact of COVID-19.

“The relaunch of Mauritius as a destination is widely anticipated on a global scale,” says Carre. “Locally, there has been an impressive roll out of vaccinations to allow fully vaccinated tourists to return to exploring everything this beautiful island has available – from the pictureque beaches to the dramatic mountains and immersive, cultural experiences. I could not be happier to reconnect with the magic of Mauritius.”

In addition to the island’s reopening, Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita also prepares to unveil significant culinary enhancements, with the addition of a brand new bar and the extension and complete re-design of Bambou Beach restaurant.

“The culinary renovations will have a significant impact on our overall Resort experience,” comments Carre. “For the first time, breakfast will be served at the beach, allowing guests to soak in more leisurely vacation mornings, overlooking the white sands and surrouding Indian Ocean lagoon.  A new buzzing bar overlooking the Resort’s internal lagoon will invite social connections and exhult sundowners tradition with hand-crafted cocktails.”

Set over 64 acres (26 hectares) of exotic landscape, Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita is home to 136 independent pool villas that range from one to five bedrooms, all of which boast a private tropical garden and outdoor terraces. Across the Resort, an endless choice of open air recreational activities blends with dramatic scenery, from where guests may tailor their daily discoveries. Guests staying at the Resort will also benefit from the reassurance of the global health and safety Lead With Care program in place at every Four Seasons, which is focused on providing care, confidence and comfort to all Four Seasons guests, employees and residents within the new COVID-19 environment.

A key part of the guest experience is the award-winning Four Seasons App and Chat, offering the option of resort wide contactless service powered by our people, and real-time access to Four Seasons services in 100+ languages, all in the palm of one's hand.
