The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort Launches Nassau’s Finest Sunday Brunch at DUNE by Jean-Georges Featuring Bahamian Cuisine in a Lavish, Mouth-Watering Weekly Ritual

Paradise Island, Bahamas

With the launch of its Bahamian-inspired Sunday Brunch, The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort is giving Bahamians newfound occasion to make the drive over the bridge. With its uninterrupted ocean views and long-standing reputation as Nassau’s top restaurant, DUNE by Jean-Georges solidifies itself as the premier place to make the weekend last. Offering decadence in an unparallelled setting, libations flow freely at the hands of five-star service while plates pile high with island recipes, and live music carries through the air.

The station-buffet brunch offers traditional Bahamian cuisine alongside notable international favourites. Chef de Cuisine Shaniqua Darling says of the local fare, “I have fond memories of family Sundays after church, gathering together to laugh and share a generous home-cooked meal. I couldn’t wait for souse or lamb, so of course these are a strong feature at DUNE’s Sunday Brunch. Our boiled fish is the best on the island – an accolade we don’t take lightly. The team also pulled out family favourites and recipes, such as our island-spiced leg of lamb or the mango relish on our pan-seared grouper.”

An abundance of choice is offered, from conch chowder to basil tomato soup; made-to-order omelettes with plantain and ham; an extensive salad bar that also features DUNE favourites of hummus or guacamole; shrimp and crab legs alongside charcuterie and imported cheese. All this to lead up to the Bahamian highlights from DUNE’s local team of chefs, including jerked chicken and pineapple kebobs, Bahamian cracked lobster, and of course peas and rice, toasted sweet plantains, and grilled corn on the cob. The sweetest end of all comes courtesy of Nassauian Executive Pastry Chef Tessa Lightbourne in charge of the day’s guava bread pudding, island coconut tart, rum cake, mango panna cotta, and orange crème brûlée with white chocolate ganache.

Chef Shaniqua continues, “We’ve combined the most flavourful Bahamian dishes with the best restaurant views in Nassau to create what Sunday brunch should be: an occasion.”
