Tony DiNatale is a proud Bostonian.  He has witnessed first-hand the growth of the city.  “The skyline has literally changed in front of my eyes. This is my town.  I grew up here, and I am count myself lucky to have seen this place rise to new heights,” says the Director of Engineering, appointed by Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston in 2018.

And rise it has.  The development of the building that the Hotel occupies is the tallest residential tower in the city, and in the state of Massachusetts.  “When I first started out in construction, I didn’t think I would work with so many hotels, but I think that’s a great sign of how we’ve grown as a destination that people want to visit,” says Tony, showing a real sense of pride in the area.

Having initially been drawn into hotels by former client The Boston Park Plaza Hotel when he ran his own major renovations company, Tony soon became something of a specialist when it came to opening hotels.  He now lists Four Seasons One Dalton Street, Boston as his 4th opening, having also delivered properties for the Westin, Aloft and Element brands.  “Openings are always challenging, but I have loved every single one I have done. Although with that said, I’ve promised my wife Michelle that I will slow down a little after this one,” he jokes.

As Director of Engineering, Tony’s responsibilities centre around ensuring that the building operates safely and efficiently for all guests and colleagues in the building.  A keen eye for detail, and a special talent for problem solving are vital to the success in his role.  “I think over the years I have developed the ability to take a step back and assess a situation that needs a solution,” he explains.  “Our business is supported by incredible technology, but there is always a need for a human element in the equation.”

An individual with a distinctly human side, Tony is someone who cares deeply for the people around him.  “I want to be remembered as a stand-up guy.  Somebody you could always count on,” he says, unveiling a depth of character that one might miss at first glance at a man who carries himself in an unassuming, humble manner.

When not busy at work behind the scenes at Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston, Tony is a devoted husband to Michelle, enjoys working with cars, and supporting his native Boston sports teams.  “If you came to my house, my wife would feed you a banquet fit for a king, and I would make you watch the Bruins or the Patriots on TV with me over a beer.”
