To accurately imbue a taste of the South at the Southern-inspired, farm-fresh restaurant PB&G (Pool Bar & Grille) at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, it made perfect sense for the PB&G management team to visit Lawrenceburg, Kentucky to custom-select a bourbon from Four Roses Distillery. After two trips to the heart of Kentucky, tasting from 10 different barrels, trying bourbons all produced with different combinations of mash bills and yeast strains all producing different characteristics, the team unanimously picked barrel No. 8. This particular bourbon was aging in a charred oak barrel since October 2004 and is made up of 60 percent corn, 35 percent rye, and a 5 percent malted barley base. The custom blend is featured in barrels stationed throughout PB&G.
For those who love bourbon, rest assured, numerous options abound. Various restaurants at Four Seasons Orlando feature signature bourbon cocktails, from The Kentucky Mule and The City Slicker Sour at PB&G to The Boss Hog at The Lobby Bar.
