Faraaz Tanveer has been immersed in the world of spa and wellness for more than ten years, from both an observer and practitioner’s perspective. A keen yogi and Vipassana meditator since his teenage years, he became a fully-qualified Reiki master and Hatha, Yin and traditional Thai yoga massage practitioner. He has also been a wellness journalist as well as corporate wellness coach and retreat facilitator.

Combining his passion for wellness with tertiary education in hospitality, Faraaz advanced to management roles for spa projects in Dubai, Qatar and Rajasthan, India. Notably, he was the pre-opening wellness director for the award-winning ila only spa at RAAS Devigarh.

While managing operations may mean less time on the mat, Faraaz remains deeply committed to his daily practice. He makes time to lead regular weekly classes for guests including yogic breathwork and Yoga Nidra (sleep). He also uses his experience as a retreat facilitator to curate personalised wellness programs to target guests’ individual needs.

“My aim is to engage the five senses to seduce body, breath and mind into a state of deep relaxation and awareness, a state that empowers and nurtures your own wisdom. It’s an ancient pursuit in a modern world. As the demands of our busy lives pull us in different directions, the Spa is a sanctuary we can return to again and again to reclaim our connection to health and wellness.”
