Having held a close cultural bond to naturopathy and Ayurvedic medicine all his life, the passion Dr. Deepu holds for his field is fuelled by his intrinsic connection to well-being. “In my culture, naturopathy and Ayurvedic medicine has been used for over 5,000 years. In contrast to the modern medicinal practices of the west, where the focus is more to treat symptoms, natural remedies have the organic power to cure, to heal and soothe the very source of an issue.”

Seychelles, it seems, is also particularly well suited to Dr. Deepu, who aside from being an avid traveller, is especially fond of small island communities that have a strong connection to nature. “Travel allows us all to take in new experiences, it broadens the mind. Each new destination has its own unique charm, and in Seychelles, this is the beauty of the nature, which is not only spectacular, but so rich in vegetation and blooming scents and colours.”

Dr. Deepu’s approach as a Naturopathic Doctor, who is also a trained acupuncturist, sees him using a wealth of both medical and wellness knowledge to prescribe the most tailored spa and yoga experiences for each guest, complemented by recommendations for herbal remedies and dietary and exercise advice - all of which can be arranged in the Resort and formulated into a programme of well-being for each individual. And so with such a depth of expertise at his fingertips, how would Dr Deepu describe his consultations? “A consultation is more than just a series of questions. It should be like getting to know a family member. While there are a number of factors that on paper can reveal certain insights, it is only through the discovery of subtle nuances that one can truly determine how best to positively impact a person’s well-being.”

Following periods of time working in both India and Bali, it was the draw of both Seychelles and Four Seasons that led to Dr. Deepu deciding to make the Indian Ocean his new home. “What’s important to me is to develop the best platform in which to elevate awareness of naturopathy in order to benefit as many people as possible. When I first discovered the Spa at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles, I knew this would be a dream home for me, where I can both contribute and learn from a team of expert therapists and a variety of Visiting Master practitioners, all of which will allow us to offer each guest the most personalised well-being experience.”
