Centenary Photography Showcase at Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square by Michael Yamashita
Four Seasons presents an exclusive showcase of photographs of Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square and Wentworth Golf Club, curated and shot by renowned American photographer Michael Yamashita, to mark both their centenaries.
Located in the elegant Rotunda Bar and Lounge, the beating heart of the Grade II*listed hotel are beautiful photographs shot by Michael Yamashita, who is most commonly known for his incredible photo exhibitions, as well as his work with National Geographic. Yamashita wanted to capture moments of the Hotel as it looks today and showcase the emotions one feels when stepping foot inside the building.
As a challenge accepted Yamashita comments, “It was a great opportunity and challenge to be shooting one of the top Hotels in the world in one of London’s most iconic and historical landmarks. In my 40-year career photographing all over the world and staying in all manner of accommodations for National Geographic, I had never done a hotel shoot. My concept behind the pictures was to provide a contrast to the Hotel’s historical photographs documenting the building’s 100-year saga, one that included its bombardment during World War II. To bring this imposing structure to life, I also wanted to do environmental portraits of the excellent Hotel staff going about their jobs throughout Ten Trinity Square’s impressive architecture and richly detailed rooms.”
Built in 1922, the former Port Authority building is now home to Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square. Ten Trinity Square was purchased by Reignwood, a Chinese investment company, in 2010 and was restored with a deep respect for London’s culture and history. After this restoration and preservation of the historical basis the building had, Ten Trinity Square is now known, again, as one of London’s most desirable addresses.
In celebration of 100 incredible years of history, the Hotel has numerous activations rolling out in 2022 and 2023, one of which was a Centenary book published by world leading publishers IMG, playing homage to the history surrounding the building and building itself.
Head down to Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square to see the photographs, which are hung around the circular bar and also browse the limited-edition Centenary book until the end of December 2022.
